Up, Up & Away - June 6th, 2019

The past few months have been filled with researching and learning about South Africa. From the influences of its mountain ranges, the development of its townships, the history of its social-political climate to past and current pop culture, students have shared their findings and thoughts with each other. With this knowledge and having enjoyed a movie night watching A Long Walk to Freedom, we are all looking forward to seeing and experiencing South Africa first hand.

Day 1 of travel has begun and we are all excited for a great trip!

All checked in and ready to go.

In the words of Nelson Mandela:
“I am fundamentally an optimist. Whether that comes from nature or nurture, I cannot say. Part of being optimistic is keeping one's head pointed toward the sun, one's feet moving forward. There were many dark moments when my faith in humanity was sorely tested, but I would not and could not give myself up to despair. That way lays defeat and death.”

Next stop South Africa!
