Eight Hour Layover in Amsterdam
A long flight with little sleep- many tired campers. We did muster the strength to trek through downtown Amsterdam and conclude with an epic tour of the Vincent Van Gogh Museum. Our day has been filled with canals (more here than in Venice- thanks Michael S), great modern architecture, turbines catching wind power (home of the wind mill),pommes frites, tulipmania,and vibrant and radiating paintings including lots of Vincents (self-portraits).We are back at Schipol airport and waiting to depart on the 2nd half of our journey to Cape Town.
